Frequently asked questions

Tickets

What does my ticket get me? 

Your ticket gets you entry to the whole event, all of the talks, exhibits, displays, meet and greets, mingling with our 25+ guests, Skeksis Afternoon Tea, entry into the cosplay competition, exclusive goodies including The Great Con-Junction Brian Froud Print. 

 

Do I have to buy tickets in advance? 

Tickets are extremely limited to guarantee a more personal unique fan experience. Tickets can be purchased here but will likely sell out before the event. 

 

How are my tickets delivered? 

All of our tickets are e-tickets from Eventbrite and will be sent to you via your chosen email address.

 

Do I need to print tickets? 

Your ticket will need to be checked and scanned on entry. You will need to be able to print your ticket to bring to the event or display it on a compatible phone or tablet display. 

 

I can no longer attend the Great Con-Junction, can I get a refund?

We will no longer be able to issue refunds.

  

Special Guests

When will guests be announced? 

We announce guests as soon as we have official confirmation. Guests can be announced at any point up to the day of an event. 

 

How do I meet the celebrity guests? 

When a guest is not having a break or doing a talk you can approach them for an autograph or just a chat. If you are feeling a bit shy/don’t know what to say, just let one of our friendly crew know and they will be happy to chaperone you. Event schedule will be posted a week before the event. 

Autographs & Photoshoots

How much is an autograph?
Autograph prices vary according to each guest. You can find out the prices here. 

 

Can I take a selfie with my favourite guest? 

Most of our guests are happy for you to take selfies with. Prices for this can be found here.

 

Do I have to buy a ticket for the group photo? 

You will be able to purchase this online before the event and if there are still tickets left then you will also be able to purchase this at the event also. Group photoshoot is £50.00. 

 

How many people can I have in one photograph? 

You can have up to two people in one photograph. You will only receive one print per photograph purchased. 

 

How long will I have to wait to have my photograph printed? 

Photographs will be printed and ready about 5 minutes after the photoshoot. 

 

Can I get a digital version of my photograph? 

If we can we will publish all of the photos online for you to download. 

Cosplay

Do you have any rules about costumes, weapons, and props? 

This is a family friendly event so your costume must be appropriate i.e no nudity etc. You will not be allowed to bring in any real weapons and fake weapons will be checked by security. If we feel that any of your props could cause serious damage to another individual, then it will not be allowed into the event. We just want everyone to have a nice time and be safe. 

 

Can I come in cosplay? 

Yes please we actively encourage it however you don't need to feel that you have to if you don't want to. 

How do I enter the cosplay competition?

You will be able to register for the cosplay competition on the morning of the event. After you have had your entry ticket scanned and collected your wristband and goodies make your way to the cosplay photo area where we will snap your pic and give you a number. Top 10 finalists will be announced around 2pm and the top 3 winners will be announced at around 3.30pm. 

Are there any other competitions to win prizes?

If you don't fancy dressing up, that's fine! You can buy a raffle ticket for 20p a ticket and be entered into a prize draw. Raffle winner will be announced at around 5pm. All raffle proceeds go to our partner charity. 

 

Is there somewhere I can get changed into my costume? 

Yes

Is there a cloak room? 

yes - but this will be unattended during the event. 

Talks & Workshops

Where do talks & workshops take place? 

Talks will be held on the stage in the Studio Suite

 

Can I take photos/ film the talks?

We would love for you to take LOTS of photos and we encourage you to upload them to social media with the hashtags #Thegreatconjunction and #DarkCrystal but no filming please.

Excellent motorway links to the international airports Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead and Luton along with the local airfield at Elstree.

Nearby links with  motorways, M1 (junction 6A), M25 (junction 23) A1 (1 mile), giving easy access to all parts of the country, airports and cross-channel routes to Europe.

Is the event suitable for children?

Yes!.

 

Food and drink

You can bring your own drinks (non alcoholic) but not your own food, unless you have life threatening allergies and then you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.  Skeksis Afternoon tea will be provided. There will also be a bar selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

 

Will there be Merchandise?

Yes

Are there cash point facilities? 

There are NO cash points at the venue. The closest cash point is 3 minute walk from the venue.

 

Will debit/credit cards be accepted? 

If you would like to purchase merchandise we can accept card for this. For autographs/selfies you will need cash. 

 

Will I be filmed and photographed? 

Potentially yes. Our events attract the local press and it is within the terms and conditions of your attendance that you may be filmed. If you do not want to be filmed or photographed you must let one of our crew know as soon as you get to the event. 

 

Can I take my own videos and photographs? 

Yes. Please do ask permission first from anyone you would like to video or photograph and respect their wishes if they decline. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #thegreatconjunction and #DarkCrystal if you upload to social media. 

 

Am I allowed to bring in photographic equipment? 

No.
